In the last four months I climbed the Great Wall of China; snorkelled on the Great Barrier Reef; dived with turtles, stingrays and fish the size of fully grown humans in Malaysia and Thailand; swam with sharks; fired an Ak-47 and climbed into Vietnamese tunnels that existed since the early 20th century; took 12 flights; made my way down the length of Vietnam and the east coast of Australia; learned to ski in Queenstown; drove a camper van across the south of New Zealand; visited two Fijian islands; saw rainforests, islands, beaches, watering holes; travelled more than 30,000km; met hundreds of people; ate sushi, dim sum, chicken feet and quail eggs; drank Vietnamese rum, Thai rum and Fijian rum; saw the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, crocodiles and dolphins; travelled through 10 countries; stayed in more than 100 different places including an exclusive resort and a car park; said hello in five different languages; visited seven vineyards; took overnight buses and trains; took taxis, boats, speedboats and planes; met people from Cork in the strangest places; watched football with Vetnamese, Fijians, Australians, New Zealanders, Thais and Malaysians; won Aus$110 on the pokies, won $50 in a casino; lost $10 to a kid on the street playing rock, paper, scissors during a blackout in Saigon; sat on a beach in 40deg heat and skiied in minus two; saw temples, tea houses, tunnels and paradise; got called a black-ass and did it all with the girl I love (and still love).
Thanks for reading, the blog got almost 1,800 hits in less than four months. Granted most of them were from my mum and Sara's mum, but still.....
