The originally plan was to take some local transportation out of NYC and then hitch the rest of the way to Boston, but a bus to Boston and a train out of town was 15$ each - so we just took one of these China Town-busses up North. We had found a guy, Mike, via the web, whom we could stay with. Mike were 22 and a classical componist student at a local conservatory. We came late Friday night, so he showed us around Boston a little bit the next day and we saw some free live concerts next to the river (one of the artist where James Blunt - that former elite soldier who's turned into a cry-baby). Later did we see the "Da Vinci Code"-movie, it's maybe the first time where I have read the book before watching the movie - so I was a little disappointed. And at night did we went out to a appartment where some of his freinds lived.
On sunday had we really wanted to see a baseball match, but we were running late (as allways) so we missed the "Red Sox"... wich was a same - but we didn't wanted to pay the high price at the guy on the street. In stead did we take to Havard Square in Cambridge, to see if we could find the Havard University. I don't know if we found it or not - our best improvement was a trash container that said "this trash belongs to Havard buildings".
Monday (May 29th) was my 20 year birthday - that was the end of my teenage years! So make something to happen did I go to the grossery store with Mike to by some ingredients to make a danish birthday tread. I would had liked to make a cake - but we couldn't find any layers for it. Therefore did I make a "cakeman" (a cake made of cinnamonrolls and shaped as a man and candy on top). Mike didn't have an functional oven, so I went upstairs to ask some small collage girls (that we had got to know Friday night because Stefan had bommed a cigaret from them) if I could borrow their kitchen. They were very up to that idea, so I was ruling their kitchen for an afternoon. Later on did we take to a thai restaurant to drink "sake", japanise rice wine, and that was pretty much how I became 20. And that was also our last day in Boston; so next day could Stefan and me finally start hitchhiking together...
