I stayed with Mackiand her two daughters (Alena, 17, and Tess, 11) for five days. It was a really nice and relaxing place and she lived right next to a beautiful river. I used the most of my time there to right a long email to my danish relations on their public libury. Two of the days I cooked some danish/non-american dished too them, which I think they liked. So there I could get to see some of "the country side", as I think their're calling it.
Macki had told her other church-friends about me, so suddenly many people wanted me to come to their house - a girl/church-ladie/woman called Julia had invited me home, and I would like to see some of Austin and see if I could get fixed my camera screen (that broke the night I slept on Gloria's frontseats in San Bernardino, because I had it in my pocket).

Macki drove me to Austin, on the friday after we all met on the sunday before, so we could meet up with Julia Petter and her family (her husband; Donald & her 6-year old son; Duke).
Julia hepled me with trying to get my camera exchanged in the Fry's Electronics, but without luck! We went out to see her son and her husband playing baseball, so then I could cacth up on how rules and stuff like that worked. That was kind of fun to see how "upset" people are about sport for kids in such a early age... I think the situation is the same with soccer in Denmark, but I have never experienced that becuase I'm not that big of a sportsman...
Sunday we went to their big "Hyde Park"-church, I was really amazed by how many people who went to church there. I was shown a collage-pre-serving-class, where they talked about "beeing on mission trip". It was a old coulpe (Dirk & Shyanne van Arsdale) who runned the show there, and in the middle of all this talking she invited me to lunch after the upcoming serving - cause they were having 27 or something to come there. It was kind of funny and I didn't have any plans, so I told them that I would like to join them.
I liked the serving there, it was not as boring as going to a danish church and the music was all so much better.
After the serving I went with Dirk and Shyanne to their house, where their grown up kids and their grand-kids + some other friends came. I enjoyed the company and the food there - so it was a good afternoon.
I went back to the Petters afterwards and where there for 6 more nights. Julia began to be worried about the idea of me hitching, because of the episode of the trucker in El Paso. She wanted to figure out that I could get a ride with someone she knew to New Orleans, so I not had to hitch. I was hard for me to accept, because I had come here to hitchhike by knowing all knowing all the good and bad part that takes. But I waited for some days and tryied to have patience, to see if we could figure something out. I went out to see Austin's big univerity some of the days and on the thursday I was invited to hang out with some of the younger "collage-kids". We went out to eat and to a concert with a christian band in their church.. so that was neath. I liked my time in Austin, but I also wanted to keep going, or I wanted to get to New Orleans. So I decided to hitchhike, though I knew Julia and Macki would be very worried about it... I knew I had to hitchhike, when I had to get away from New Orleans anyway... And these days hitchhiking is my mission with the risks that takes!
