This and the following entries is primary made for/to the people I'm meeting on my hitchhiking-travels (right now I don't know where and when they are going to end). The blog is made/started about 8 weeks after the story started - I heard about this travelpod from "Johnnynomad" in New Orleans. It should be a easier way to get the things written.

-------------------

I had thougt about doing this for more than 2 years, and now after having finished what I wanted to finish before my trip (high-school and military-duty) I was now right in the middle of it. I had just said goodbye to my parents in Copenhagen airport and was now supposed to find my first plane to Chicargo (I haven't into such a thing for allmost 9 years).
Some weeks before I had quited my job in the supermarket after beeing working there in the winter time and a week before I had been on ski-vacation in Norway.
The last days up to had I used to get the things out of the appartment that i had lived in in the winter. And of course had I used a lot of time to sowe and paint my hitchhiking sign.
But anyway; I had a very strange feeling about what I was doing. I didn't have a booked hotel or hostel or anything and i felt that I was going towards this very big country that I had heard so many good and bad things about. I had even taken the "Da Vinci Code" with me so I could read that.. but there where just too many thoughts running thru my head to make that option possible. The 8 hours in the plane to Chicargo past way longer than I had thought and there were high service in the airplane. In the bordercontrol in Chicargo I ran into some troubles, because I didn't have a plan, a place to stay and didn't knew somebody in the US... but it all worked out in the end. I began to realize that I now was all alone and that I had to get some sleep... so I slept most of the rest of the way to San Francisco...
