All the time I had wanted to go to the Kumba Mela Hindu festival in the neigh boor city Allahabad. This is the biggest festival in the world if you count participants - estimated 10 mio. this year on an area of 15 ackers.
But but, as we came there they festival had just finished and we went to see the empty fields with a few tents and people left. We still got a small feeling about how intense it could have been. It was all most impossible to get a hotel, so there must have been a good amount of people left.
One day was enough in Allahabad and we jumped on a night train to Agra, to see the architectural beauty of Taj Mahal
The girls went to see the palace and I waited outside, cause I was going the same way with my family less than a week after - the entrance fee was bloody expensive, I guess it was my main reason to be honest.
On the road again and on a train the rest of the way to Delhi. We bought the ticket right before departure, so we had to stand up in the doorway between the open doors of a running train - and Indians hanging out of the doors.
We went to the tourist base camp in Delhi, next to the station, found a cheap room and stayed there for the night. The girls had some shopping to do before going on the flight to Kathmandu next day. That was basicly the last stop for our trio and the next afternoon we said goodbye to each others and I could wait one more day for my family to come.
