Well I had a pretty okay sleep but woke up at a few points in the night for a cough. Noni said that she wasn't woken up by the coughing but from the other guy in the room, I didn't really get what she meant. And then she asked whether it was common that a bed for one becomes a bed for two during the night at hostels and then I said that yes that did occur frequently but I never paid attention to what the other guests were doing (not putting two and two together). Before I left, I heard the other dude in the room talking under the blanket and once again ignored what was going on but thought "oh, he brought someone back with him. Then halfway down the street after we left the hostel, Noni asked if I woke up from her snoring, I said no, that I hadn't even woken up from the guy having sex in the room, to which she replied "I did". Whereas I don't pay attention to these things and am mostly oblivious, I from Noni's response, I think she may have been disturbed.

We first caught a train to Buda (we were staying in Pest which is on the other side of the Danube) and got off nearish to the hill thing with the castle at the top. We took it very slow up the hill and stopping many times to enjoy the view. The view at the top near the castle was amazing and it was also very enjoyable walking around the area. It was decided that food was probably going to be our next priority and so we caught a tram back into Pest and got off on a popular street which seemed to have many a café. The place we chose was one of convenience and a little bit more pricy than the restaurant last night but things are pretty cheap in Budapest. I had the goulash, which was extremely tasty and just what I needed to make me feel better and Noni had a chicken baguette with sweet tasting mayonnaise/mustard.

After lunch, we caught the noisiest cable car to the park near hero square and walked around a castle thing and hero square (I can't be bothered describing when there are pictures of these things) before making our way down another popular street. After noticing that KFC had internet and KFC, we gave in and went there as enough time had elapsed past lunch that food could be counted as dinner. All the walking around made us feel a bit tired, and the hostel is not a bad place to just chill out in, so that's how we decided to spend our evening (we are on holiday after all!).

When we got back to the hostel, it was time to write some postcards (and send them this time, as I forgot to do in Italy therefore ending up costing me double in stamps) and the dude from our room was there talking to us. He was American and originally going around Europe with his brother, but apparently his brother had left him there and he was working and tried to get sympathy from us that he lost his job (none was forthcoming), he also mentioned his lovelife and how he couldn't bear it when he was away from the girl (that was in our room the previous night) and he was staying in Budapest until she finished her course as he wanted her to come away with him. He was all rather theatrical about it all, and both Noni and I challenged him at certain points in the conversation (he was going on about religion) which was really to no avail that he should consider the many other points of view in the world... Basically, we gave up and went to bed.
