Today was a long day but a really good one! We left early and went with Mark and Debbie to pick up his new car. We then left and made our way up to the Blue Mountains which was about a 2 hour drive. We went to a look out point called Echo Point where you can see both the Blue Mountains and Three Sisters which are 3 big rocks next to each other. The mountains have a blue glow because of the Eucalyptus that all the trees give off. It was a really sunny day but crisp at the same time, just like autumn at home.
We sat down and I had a strawberry milkshake and russ had a hot chocolate before making our way to the Jenolan Caves. The caves were amazing!! We did a 1 and a half hour tour of the Lucas Caves. There were loads of steps that we kept having to go up and down, but the tour guide kept saying that back in 1860 when the caves were found, people had to climb down ropes and ladders with a candle in their mouth. Sounds like fun but not when you see how far down they had to climb!!!!!
After that we made our way back to the city and went into a place a bit like bowlplex with loads of fruit machines and live music where these guys were playing the steel drums.
All in all it was a really interesting day, where we went reminded me of some of the places we used to go to in Scotland on holiday, with little shops selling fudge and jumpers!
