Hello,
Today has been a really good day! We woke up early and got into the city at about 8. We made our way to Circular Quay which is where all the ferry's leave the harbour where the Opera House and Harbour bridge is. It was really foggy to start off with so we walked to the Opera House and I got some really spooky photos of the Opera House as the fog started to lift. It is so much bigger than it looks in photos!! After that we walked back to the ferry's docks and went on a boat over to Taronga Zoo. It's such a nice zoo and all the animals are really well looked after. When we arrived we got our photo taken with two koalas! They are so cute!!
There were the usual animals as well as some really big tigers and lion just the other side of the glass!! We were allowed to go too close as there was a big lioness sunbathing and she attacks the glass if she thinks we are a threat!! Didn't help with all the kids running around the place.
On the walk back down from the zoo to the ferry dock I got some really cool photos of Syndey.
After the zoo we went back to Circular Quay and walked round to 'The Rocks' which is like the 'quirky' part of the Harbour. There were loads of little shops selling weird things and we even got a free demo from a girl working in the biggest didgeridoo shop in the world! Might have to get one and send it home.......
We got lunch in a place called Pancakes on the Rocks which went down a treat because by this time we were starving!
After lunch we had a stroll around the bottom of the bridge and walked up to the Observatory which was so cool! It was quite small but really well looked after and had loads of the old brass moving models of the earth, moon and planets.
For dinner we had fish and chips back at Mark and Debbie's on a bench by a beach near them. It was pretty tasty but you can't beat the fish and chips at home!
