The waves are gently breaking down on the sandy shore; swimmers heads jutting out, bobbing up and down in the gently rolling swell. The Jesus statue staring intently down at them from his perch on the rocky cliff. Clouds low, dull in the sun's glare.
Mansions lodged beside the statue. Mansions of crazy design; inspired by Nicaragua's wealthy. Multi coloured boats resting for the night; ranging from massive trawlers to tiny dinghies. All getting ready to take their hauls to the Japanese owned fishing plant nestled in the left cove of the bay.
Seagulls circle, waiting for fish to eat for their tea ...
And I see all this from my seat at El Timon, a charming little restaurant on the sea front, with old scratched floor boards and thatched roof, with polished tables and waiters in posh ship's crew uniforms. All of this from my table, 20 metres from the seafront and amongst everything that's happening.
