Today was Barb's day. The birthday girl danced the day in as we counted down to midnight on the dancefloor and then we danced the day out! In between that we had a heap of fun in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. (thanks honey for not mentioning the number 33! :)

Today we were invited to a honeymoon and anniversary champagne party. How could we resist!!
We had our obligatory photo taken next to the cake and then we got on with the serious business of people watching and champagne drinking. The cruise director, Drew, wondered over and asked us how we met. We told him the real story (which only we will ever know) but also told him our cover story - a nudist beach.

They had a competition to find out who were the 'newest Newlyweds' - we won hands down! The prize was a bottle of fancy French champagne (which sadly, looked better than it tasted). There were a few couples celebrating their 50th anniversaries (a milestone we hope to one day match).

Upon presentation of our prize, Drew stuck the microphone in front of us and said 'so tell us how you met' - we panicked and blurted out the nudist beach story! Drew and the rest of the crowd gasped in horror - then tried to picture us both naked! lol

For the rest of the cruise we were hence forth known as the nudist beach couple (Even though Barb and I have never been to a nudist beach in our lives - speak for yourself). Afterwards we had lots of couples congratulate us and offer marriage advice (I think a few of the husbands were hoping Barb would strip off in front of them...)

In the evening we had dinner at the Murano which was THE exclusive restaurant on board the ship. Although it wasn't formal night it was a very formal restaruant so we both got dressed up. Barb got her makeup done at the beauty parlour and as usual looked magnificent (my date didn't look too shabby either). We were treated like a prince and princess.

We were waited on by Mario 'My friends call me Mario' and the food and service was exceptional. Despite the five courses we had eaten, Barb was presented with yet another cake for her birthday. Two cakes in one day which was too much even for chocoholic-Barb so we organised to have it delivered to our cabin where we could eat it later. (We had to empty the mini bar in our room to make space for all the cake!)

Needing to work off our dinner, we hit the Quasar nightclub which is still recovering from Barb's wild (but entertaining) dancing. After that night, the DJ then remembered us (or rather Barb) for the rest of the cruise.

(It was the best birthday ever! Thanks to my lovely husband for making me feel special everyday)
