As there was no port transfer to the town was by way of tender - We got to go on a life boat without the ship sinking!!
Villefranche was beautiful and we could easily have spent the whole day there but... on a spare of the moment decision we jumped on a bus heading up the coast with the aim of getting off at another small town along the way. We got off at Monaco! Oh well whats a boy to do! It was the week before the Monaco grand prix and today they were having a race of the classic cars as a warm up to the main event. All the streets were closed off for the race but there was a great atmosphere. I was surprised that Barb didn't think I had organised this all along :) Barb wasn't impressed though that I didn't wanted to spend the day visiting the markets - watching Ferraris or watch lettuce - mmmm tough choice :)
With the sounds of racing cars in our ears we caught the train back to Villefranche and had drinks at the harbour where we were surrounded by yachts and Ferraris
Later we sat on our balcony and admired the view of the riviera as our ship sailed into the sunset.
This was our last night on the Equinox and although we had 3 days in Rome to look foward to we were sad we were going to have to leave our home. As we ate dinner we reflected on what an incredible experience the last 2 weeks had been. We bid our waiter Edwin a sad farewell knowing it was unlikely we would ever see him again and had a drink in the martini bar before returning to our cabin to pack :(
