We arrived by taxi from the train station to a fourth great place to stay in Eastern Europe, an apartment where we enjoyed the extra room and kitchen facilities. In addition to some muesli, fruit and yogurt and frozen pizzas, we (mostly John) devoured several varieties of poppy seed or apple pastries and Zlaty Bazant beer. The weather warmed up considerably so we enjoyed wandering the old town and more cobblestone squares as well as biking east and west along the Danube. While biking we discovered that Bratislava is also a very attractive and modern city. We were quite impressed and saw some similarities to Melbourne which we fell in love with back in January.
