Today it is into Lichfield to meet Dell, Doreen and Peggy to view the magnificent Lichfield Cathedral, this cathedral is the only one in the world with 3 spires, you have to agree it looks pretty smart. Dating back 1300 years to when people first worshiped on this sight. Building commenced in 1195 and continued through to 1340. A fantastic place with a lot of history.

Karen's mum used to sing in this cathedral many years ago, having heard the boys singing the night before it is little wonder she had a place in the choir. Now I also see why Karen loves the
Karaoke.
After goodbyes to the family we headed down to Sutton Coldfield for lunch with Bill and Eve at their local? Really nice to catch up again and talk over old times and sort through old photos with so many memories. Talking about their holiday in Austria a few Christmas's ago convinced us that it would be great to experience a real winter Christmas one day with snow, sleigh rides, the decorated towns, mulled wine and all the beauty of the Austrian highlands.
Sad goodbyes to Bill and Eve and we were on our way from the West Midlands across town to Rutland County ( the smallest county in England) to visit our Xerox mates Alan and Sheila Kitcheman, now retired here in Oakham.
A & S now well settled in after a big house makeover and, as one would expect, a stunning garden chokka full of every veggie you can imagine, lots of flowers and great bird life. Off for a great evening meal at he Exeter Arms in near by town. Tomorrow we have a full day seeing the near bye sights and history.
