Summer in Australia began, I finished my job out in Chum Creek, Felix finished his job at Citywide, I went to W.A. and back again for Christmas and amongst all this we began packing up our life at Carbeena Pde. It was very sad to see our time with Jelly, Michi, Edwin and Maria was coming to an end. On my last night at Carbeena, Maria and Edwin, with a team of helpers, put on a delicious Filipino style 'Despadida' farewell celebration.

When I got back from W.A. (my late night flight was delayed two and a half hours) -- working on only a few hours sleep -- we moved out to my parents place in Hoddles Creek. We came to stay planning to only be here for a short time to look after the animals while the rest of my family were still in W.A. but we have been enjoying the quite, lazy days so much we decided it would be nice to stay longer.

We had an impromptu New Years Eve celebration out here with the Heidelberg West/Heights Cameron clan plus David and Lee coming out for a mini retreat holiday. Everyone had such a great time, especially the children. Our six acre hobby farm was a wonderland to them. They ran around the house exploring the many rooms and secret cubbies, they helped feed the animals and take the dogs for walks. We played in the large expanse of gardens and paddocks, talked, laughed cooked, ate, David washed up, cooked again, ate again, laughed, talked and played some more. It was the perfect way to welcome in the New Year.

We have made a few visits back to Heidelberg West to help with the last of the move from Carbeena to Hibi. Jelly, Michi, Edwin and Maria have done an amazing, beautiful job refreshing  Hibi for the next phase in its life. We wish you guys all the best in your wonderful new home and hope we can share many good times with you there in the future.

Well I think that should do for the first blog. Things should get a little more exciting when we get on the move, Less than 30 days until we leave for our European Adventure. Time is sneaking past so quickly.

So, until next time...

What a fabulous first entry! There' s just one detail that you forgot to include about the Despedida party we held for you on your last night at Carbeena, Floss: the song I made up about you!!

For the record, the song goes very close to the tune of 'The Birds and the Bees' and I composed it while riding home after an extremely long day at work in the bucketing rain... I cheered myself up so much by making the little rhymes I could think of about you Floss that I only smiled when a car splashed my whole body with a solid sheet of water.

Ok, here goes:

Let me tell you about the Flossie Behre
With the long blonde hair
If you want to hear a dream
Things ain't what they seem
Sit down at the breakfast table
Or for lunch and dinner too
She'll have a story for you

Chorus:
And when I think of all the things she does
That make Carbeena feel like home sweet home
Then I'm very sad
I'm very sad
That it's about to end

Let me tell you 'bout the Flossie Behre
With the long blonde hair
If you want to wax your legs
Or whisk up eggs
Just ask Floss
She's the boss
She'll tell you what to do

Let me tell you 'bout the Flossie Behre
With the long blonde hair
She made a jump suit
One for Leo to boot
If you wanna give it a whirl
Floss is you girl
She'll teach you how to knit

Let me tell you 'bout the Flossie Behre
With the long blonde hair
When I heard about her first
She was a gym instructor
A swimming instructor
With big breasts
...I'll Felix tell the rest!
