Hi all, we have been in Canada for four days, the weather has been warm but a liitle grey which hasn't been unpleasent at all. i am amazed at the size of the place the roads are much wider than at home in NZ and you seem to be able to drive endlessly. The vehicles are all very big compared to what we are used too, no smart cars here, for those of you who have seen a Hummer in NZ they are quite small here by comparison (the trucks here are all big)
We have meet most of Joy's relatives that are hereone cousin lives quite a distance away and so we have not been able to meet her or her husband although Joy did get to speak to her for awhile when we spent the day with her aunt and uncle yesterday.
I have enjoyed being here its nice to see squirrels and chipmunks running about and some of the birds are very colourful we even saw a large flock of canda geese today when we visited lake Huron. They truly are great lakes absolutely huge it is a strange feeling standing on a lake beach and not seeing any land as you look towards the horizon. The land we have seen is very flat with trees scattered about, most of the farms seem to cultivate crops and have huge barns that house the cattle, there is a large Meninite population and we have seen a number on the roads in their horse and buggies, tomorrow we hope to see more as we are planning to go to the farmers market in the morning.
We start our journey home on Friday an head to Vancouver then onto Auckland, the leg to Auckland is Air New Zealands longest non stop flight and takes around 14 hours! It will still take over twenty flying hours to get all the way home from here. Its going to be a long day!!!
