We took a trip out to the Colca Canyon, which is supposedly the world's deepest canyon. However, unlike the sheer rock faces of the grand canyon, it was lush and green.
We also went to the Cruz del Condor, where we saw the world's 2nd largest birds soaring on air thermals. It was quite the sight!! (Note: world's No.1 biggest bird is the albatross).
Quick Spanish lesson: The letter "V" in Spanish is pronounced as a "B". And saying goodbye is "Ciao", pronounced "Chao".
So guess why the highlight of my day was when we were leaving the town of Chivay and the tour guide made the entire bus yelled "Ciao, Chivay!"?
"CHAO CHEE BAI".
