After a FULL dusk to dawn night of playing cards and drinking with friends in Alans house on Christmas night, I was late for meeting our Paul to go off on our road trip to Galway. Oops!!  Well only by an hour and it was St Stephens day an the roads were quiet.  When I did finally slink into the back seat of his car it was 9am, I had my snuggie and the eternally bouncy cheery Ciara and myself were in fine voice (well thats debatable by Paul) and we sang all the way to the border at top of our voices..he he he.

On arrival in Galway at lunch time, we were recieved my Dad and family with lovely hot soup, rolls, ham, salad, turkey, the works!!  and more importantly....the best Irish Coffees in Ireland.

Shannon and Casey I swear have grown 2 inches each!!  We were made feel very very welcome and the two families blended effortlessly.  We had loads of fun catching up with uncles, aunts and cousins also.   Some of the funniest times were spent on the wii.  The girls have the full band set up.....drumkit, guitar and a microphone for the renound McEntee dulcid singing tones...not..  However this minor detail stopped no one and we all had our turn being rockstars.

On the last morning  of our visit I got up at 4am to go to work with Dad....after the Queensland 30 degree heat it was great craic to be fecking freezing in a warehouse on the outskirts of Galway waiting on Ireland's morning papers to arrive so we could deliver them throughout Connemara and further afield....you have to laugh...well laugh and bounce about alot to keep warm which I did.

The countryside was breathtakingly beautiful at dawn, all white and twinkly.  Absolutley hazzardess on the roads though and I was impressed with my fathers driving skills keeping the wagon going in a straight line.  He is a member of IAM (institute of advanced motorists) and those skills were totally obvious on the scary roads covered in sheet ice, black ice, frozen snow and of course the other big risk on the roads...less capable drivers!!!

After a few wonderful days it was back to Belfast.....big sightime to go to Mum for TLC before heading to London with Kev and Cat to See Gillian, Luke and Sonny.... Roll on 2010..YAY!
