Despite my great resistance, I believe these Albertans are trying to turn me into a cowgirl!!! For starters, the biggest and best parties I've been to in Canada have been out at Lori's ranch, amongst the cow pats and testicles. Secondly, my flatmate lives, drinks and breathes country music. I wake up each weekend to a hoe down going on in the kitchen. Janet's teaching me how to 'two step' (they actually do this in clubs! arg.) and educating me in the fine art of singing with a "twang". I'm even going to the Dixie Chicks concert in Edmonton this Novemeber (hold onto your hats, cowboys!). I was set up with the best mate of Clayton Ballamy (www.claytonbellamyband.com) who is part of the country/rock fusion band currently touring the US & Canada, winning awards worldwide, and topping the country music charts (http://www.theroadhammers.com/). I'm taking horse-riding lessons every Tuesday (see pictures) and (mum, you'll be proud) I wear jeans now without whining and complaining. All in all, I'm becoming dangerously close to being a cowgirl!
Alberta is so country, they have a club for kids here called 4H, and the kids actually buy, raise and sell a baby bull!!! For FUN!!!!
Yeehaaaaaa.
Quick, somebody take me to the city!!!!
