So the first thing I realized is that we had to back track 10 miles and that didn't make me very happy, but all in all the first 6 miles were head winds and then the turn helped and eased into tail winds for most of the day. I thought I had taken a wrong turn back about a mile and so stopped a guy in a car and he assured me I was headed the right direction....well then I came to where I was to turn right and then a left and I couldn't see the left so I stopped at this Lamberts Diner and asked this guy Gene Bolin and he said the road I needed was back about 5 miles and so that I could take 1414 and it was about 3 miles ahead take a left and then a right onto SR54 is where I needed to be....Then 3 other guys walked up to into the Diner and agreeded that would be my bst bet.....said to be careful for the drivers, one guy asked me if my life policy was paid......
So I take off and find SR1414 and travel that for 16 miles and meet up with Alan who works for the County of Ohio....I asked if there was a store close to get some ice and water and he said not for about 10 miles but he had ice inhis bucket that I could have so we dumped all his ice in my camelback and chatted for a bit, today was his birthday and he said i didn't look at all like I was going to be 70.....
It's about 10:30am and already to hot for me.....at noon I figured I wasn't going to make it the whole way into town for my interview so called the gals for the Van. Mary Jane came to get me at 56 miles and I got into the motel room about 45 minutes before my call was to come in from Pam & Rochelle. I got showered and waited a bit...The call came in and they said I sounded rested and I said I had my shower and felt alot better......it was a good interview from what Michael (my fan club) said.....If you want to listen the link is below.....
I then decided to laydown for a nap as again the heat just took it out of me.....The girls came in around 5pm....and I woke up got ready for dinner we went to BB's which was recommended....by the front desk person. Margaret who greeted us early was very accomodating and the rooms were very nice. It's late and tomorrow is another 90 degree day but only 38 miles. I will be camping the next 3 nights due to having 2 days off after tomorrow, can't wait to really rest up.
