We still haven't seen Dorothy & Todo, she must of been blown away with all the wind.....You don't ever have to worry about what your hair looks like because unless put glue it down it won't matter.

Started out not to bad some head, side and few tail winds.....very few on the tail.....Lot more of the cattle feed holding places, more green than we have seen lately and no chipseal shoulders in Kansas.....Yeh!!!!

We stopped in a small town called Ingall's for lunch at there cafe only place in town and the staff of young boys and girls probably were not older than 17 the youngest being about 10 maybe 11. He was the cutest, kept asking us if everything was okay....Well it shorta was, we waited a long time for our sandwiches ordered them with salads.....no salad was service with the sandwich and so we asked the older boy about the salads and he brings us someone elses large salads.....We finally received our small salads and were back on our bikes, it is now about 88 degrees out and actually we were thanking the wind for blowing to keep us a little cooler.

Katy was stopping every 5-10 miles today to refill our waters, give us oranges and then traveled back on her bike the last few miles before we reached Dodge City.....Katy had made reservations at the LaQuinta Inn yesterday and it was at the edge of town.......boy were we glad to see it, we went to the check-in desk and found that she made it for the 23rd and today they were sold out, the gal said there were alot of Oil people in town.....The gal back in Garden City said that the motels/hotels have been pretty much sold out these last couple of weeks.....I guess its all about the Oil in Kansas....

We found a nice Italian Restaurant Bella Italia Ristorante, it was delicious....We hardly have had a bad meal yet......just one that I can remember the chowder was bad....don't remember the name of the place or town....They sold beer and a couple of drinks but no wine, kinda weird we thought....

We then took our nightly trip for ice cream, last nights was so good from McDonald's that Jane and I choose the Mc Flurry's again and Katy wanted ice cream cone at DQ....Jane was buying because she lost the bet of how many miles from Ingall's it was to Dodge City.....

Another great day on the road of my journey.....55 miles today that makes it over 250 miles in 4 days, tomorrow is a day off we are driving towards Kansas City to get Katy there by the 25th...We will ride again on thursday from Emporia, KS to Kansas City and then layover for 2 days there and start riding again the 26th to get to Wichita by the 28th......

I know my schedule has changed a lot for Kansas but Katy's dates got changed and we are working around it all, still going to be doing most of the miles through Kansas.....

I know what you mean about the Kansas winds! We were just there visiting our son in Wichita and the winds were horrendous! I wouldn't have wanted to be biking there this week. Keep up the good work. We are enjoying your blog.
