Where I stayed
We left Lamar, CO this morning around 9am and off into the wind for 51 miles we had head, side winds and chipseal shoulders, boy it just beats you up the wind and the chipseal.....But every pedal stroke gets us that much closer to our destination each day....
We had lunch in the little town of Holly, CO Katy found a nice park and we sat under the shelter with the wind blowing and ate and relaxed. Then decided to play on the kids slide, Katy went down a couple of times and I only once, Jane decided she didn't want to go down.
Then it was back on the road facing the winds and flat land......then we came across the Welcome to Kansas.....Woo Hoo we're in the Land of OZ...We had a pit stop with about 8 miles to go into Syracuse and while stopped a lady came from a field close to where we were looking for help to get gas for her truck which was across the street at this house from where we were. She said that no one answered at that house and she had seen this person on a 4 wheel in the field she was trying to track down to get some gas....In the end Katy took her into town and dropped her to get gas....Jane and I were concerned then about her safety....never know about helping people these days....She was just happy for the lift and we checked out the town and desided to drive to Garden City.....We had done 51 miles and felt like it was 100 miles.....
We checked into the Garden City Inn freshened up and went to dinner in town Mexican was our choice at Los Margaritas, it was delicious and as always we were so hungry....Then back to the motel got some post cards done, phone calls and it was time to think about dessert....so off to DQ only to find it was closed so the next place was McDonalds for a Mc Flurry.....Our day was complete and we were tired.....
So 5 1/2 hours of riding 51 miles.....Thanks for your support and listen to Michael/PR guy in Seattle on the HTTP://WWW.LIFEMASTERYRADIO.NET tomorrow around 10:30am.
