Got up early and was ready to go by 7:30 am Katy showed up at 8:00am and we sat around with her friend Julie and talked for awhile. Then it was off on the road straight down N. Academy Ave all the way to Hwy 115 thats when the real climbing started. Thanks to the road crew for helping us to be safe going through there construction on Hwy 115, we had a clear road for awhile no vehicles and that is always cool.

Then we got the head winds just before going to stop for lunch in Penrose along the side of the road, actually in a lot that was up for sale....We sat in ate while it started to thunder and then rain, we were glad to be in side the Van at that time...By 12:00pm we had chipped away 42 miles the best ever....We did have tail and side winds so it really helped. After just 20 miles and we would arrive in West Pueblo....Then we got great tail winds and only a few hills to climb so we pulled in to her house at 2:30pm....Not bad for a couple of older ladies. There wasn't much to see on that route just open desert and a few homes.....

It totally was the perfect day, we had a little rain, thunder, head, side, tail winds, but all in all it was the best......

Patricia,

We've been following your travels and are so proud of the progress that you have made! Way to go!!! Keep safe, and hopefully you'll have plenty of tailwinds as you cross the eastern Colorado plains and Kansas!
