The morning started off with me having a flat on my front tire....as we got it out of our room. So sweet Jane changed another of my flats. We left town around 10am with our cell phone maps for walking and found a great trail for about the first 3miles. Then it was up hill again for about 2 miles pretty steep, then cross the freeway to a short down and more climbing.....Then at about 12 miles we come to a dirt road......So we called Katy and she had been trying to call us to advise that it was a dirt road. She couldn't find a path or road for us to safely be on and it was starting to rain.
I got a call from my Son Randy wishing me Happy Mothers Day and we talked for awhile, first time since I left over a month ago. Katy shows up and we got in the van and said the heck with it went to lunch. Katy called a cousin to come join us she lived in the area so we sat and chatted for 2 hours while eating Pizza.....
Then the weather did change to being sunny but it was around 3pm and in order to get on a safe road it meant we had to go back and I hate going back so we headed to Jennifer's house for the night. She just had knee surgery 3 days ago and so needed some help so we went to the store and picked up a couple of things for her, chatted and then I made big Salads for dinner with chicken.
Jenn's boy friend came in around 9pm and we talked and called it a early night. We decided that we would go to REI and get some good maps of bike trails to get to Colorado Springs. So nothing to exciting for sure....just got stronger on the hills we did and that was about it.
