So first thing this morning we were off to pick up Katy Woodworth and drop Bill to the Airport. Bill had to go back home today. Katy is here for a month being our support gal.....
We got on the road around 10:30am to find a Jordan River Trail which was to go for about 30 miles. We had a few issues finding the trail but finally found it....the markings for the trail are not very good at all. It was beautiful along the Jordan River among lots of trees, birds singing the only thing missing were signs to say which way when it came to a end. Do we go Left or Right? Well we stopped a lot of people but not many knew the area and could help us....We talked to Katy a few times she had to go to the end of trail as the roads didn't even come close to being the same area.
There were also a lot of wood bridges and when coming over one I wasn't expecting to be going so fast down and tried to get my left foot out of the pedal and turn a sharp right but ended up going into a fence, didn't hurt me just my bike handle bars a little we got it straighten and went on...Then we are in a construction area and I get a flat tire, so thanks to Jane she changed it and again were on our way....We also had head winds all day, nothing new, I said that it was making us stronger for the hills. There were some areas that were gravel, and I think that was how I got my flat....
Well we finally come to the end of the trail and again no street names, Hwy signs nothing to tell us left or right so we took a right and got lost so called Katy to come find us.....We figured we should of gone to the left and then we might of, been, close to where she was sitting. Katy came and Jane decided she wanted to ride the 3 mile climb ahead and I was very tired and took the van, I completed 34.5 miles and being that tired I figured I would be safer in the Van....Jane met up with us at El Lago restaurant just as we finished eating, she wasn't so hungry so she got in the van and we drove the remaining 16 miles to a nice LaQuinta Hotel in Orem....It was about 6pm when we got there. Katy took a swim and Jane and I got our showers and did some emails and my blog.
Tomorrow we are off to Fruitland and change in the itinerary. We are a day ahead at this time but things cam always change.
