We started our morning going to breakfast at Perkins, just a short walk away, just about the first time we have done breakfast since we started....It was delicious and then we got ready to head down the road. We were only about 3 miles out and flat tire for me again.....Well it was our error yesterday for not checking the tire throughly, I said to Jane and I pulled the like staple out but neither of us checked the tire for sure...oops!!!. We got a hold of Bill and he took the bike back to the shop since the wheel was again rubbing...I got on my Bianchi and off we went.

There were side winds but we struggled through and then the head winds started and oh boy did they start we think it must have been at least 30mph. The winds were so bad that it almost stopped me on and the bike got me down to 2mph and we finally got off and walked a short distance and Bill came by and we got the bikes on the rack and got in the Van we had about 30 miles in at that point. So we got to Malta about 5 miles away and no camping or motels to speak of the town was 393 population. So we drove and in about 20 miles we came to the Utah border and we remembered that the guy at the bike shop said it was down hill to Snowville our town for tomorrow.

We decided to get out even though there was still some winds but by then not to bad. I had a blast finally got a little tail winds and I was traveling at 24-26 without pedaling down hill, WOO HOO. I then was doing sprints and riding as fast as I could and then just coasting for at least a mile or so. Did 20 miles of down hill in no time at all. Jane was struggling a little today and I for some crazy reason had all kinds of energy on day 6 of riding......I must be 20 again......

Got into Snowville small town with a campground right at the start of town and so we pulled in and what a cool place. There was no one in the office due to labor costs and it was on a honor system, can you believe that in today's world.....There were comments all over the walls that people had left and so I wrote on my envelope also and put my business card and check in. They also had a driving range, but the weather started to get stormy looking. We had some snacks and Bill headed to the store to get a diet pepsi for Jane. Bill ended up bringing a pizza back and so we were going to sit at the table, but it started to really get stormy so piled into the Van for cover (bless the purchase of the Van). The pizza tasted pretty good. the storm really kicked in and blew the power out and still out as I type.

I have about 66% battery on my computer but its supposed to get down to 34 degrees tonight so will be kinda of cold without the heater going......Bill also got Root Beer Pop and ice cream and we had RootBeer Floats, Yummy......

So now we are 1 day ahead of schedule and were suppose to have a layover day here tomorrow, but nothing really around so will probably ride for 3 more days and then be in Salt Lake City with 4 days layover. We will then be bringing in Katy and Bill will leave us, I wonder if I can train Katy as well as I had Bill trained to do everything for me, probably not....will miss him terribly but we are excited to have Katy joining us......boy the days seem to fly by almost May already.

Well, I'm going to go take my shower in the dark and get the photos uploaded and call it a night.

Thanks everyone.....over 1300 looking at the travelpod.....I'm amazed......

Patricia,
Sounds like you must be adjusted to life on the road again! Glad to read you are enjoying the adventure more, even with the adverse weather. Keep the mind reeling and those wheels rolling!
