Where I stayed
KOA Meridian/Boise
We woke up to a very foggy, foggy morning. So I waited for it to lift and left around 10am. Bill took a trip into town to catch a few more murals as I pedaled out. There was a lot more traffic today on East Hwy 20 which was a little nerving, but there were more small towns to go through than the last few days of nothing but scenery. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with the scenery, but I like going through the towns.
We stopped in Nyssa for lunch today and I changed bikes, the grit on the road is really doing a number on the Raleigh. It did feel good to ride the Bianci though, I have only ridded it for a few miles before today. Right after lunch I pedaled into Idaho, Yeh! 1 state down and 8 more to go. The roads are quite as nice as Oregon as far as the shoulders being cleared of debris and gravel.
The winds were every which way today, very little tail, a lot of side and head winds again...glad to have a few days off after today. We will be trying to fund raise here in Meridian/Boise area...
Jane a friend from Odyssey will be joining me on the April 23rd and ride to the end in YorkTown, VA....it will be nice to share the head winds....Another Odyssey friend Ramona is coming out at the end of May they will then take turns driving and riding with me along with another friend. So for of you that were worried about me being out here alone, that is no more....Bill will be leaving on May 3rd in Salt Lake City and Katy will come to drive for a month....
We found a very nice KOA for the next few days, pool, exercise room, entertainment, Blue Grass this evening, pool table, which Bill advantage of this young boy and beat him a few games. So I'm going to get caught up with all my things in these days and the blog will be short unless there is something interesting to write about.
Hope you are all enjoying the photos and blogging. In the next few days we will be getting the videos posted. Bill has done an excellent job on those.
