Where I stayed
Oasis RV & Cafe
Had a great nights sleep, the guy said they had brand new pillow top mattresses.....he was right.
So started the day around 10:30am, the town of Burns is closing its businesses one right after another.I went for 20 miles straight before a turn in the road, a lot of open plains and a few ranches. Then at mile 25 I came to Oard's Service and Art Gallery Indian art. Bill was there talking to the lady inside when I got there. No restaurant so pulled the Van out of the way and I made peanut butter sandwich. Then the climbing began about 3 miles and from there it was rolling hills so some climbs and small downs....
Beautiful views from the climbs and then the best down ever 5 miles of down....I got up to 33 mph and there wasn't much traffic so was able to pull into that lane and cruise. Bill was having a great time being the Phantom Driver that he is, at one point I was coming along and he was way off getting the video shots.....I think he is having a great time and will miss him when he is gone.
I cycled 58 miles today into the Juntura, OR town of 1063 and to the Oasis RV & cafe. We were hungry so went straight to eat it was just before 3pm. We met Lorri the waitress and Scott the cook. I had a meat loaf sandwich which was huge and I didn't think I would be able to eat it all but really had not trouble putting it away....Lorri couldn't imagine anyone traveling by bicycle but then thought it would be cool because you could see everything and not miss a thing.
We got our Van set up and it wasn't much, no hot shower so that wasn't too cool but oh well things like this do happen on the road. Well going to again see about editing the videos Bill has been taking.....
Please pass this on to your friends and family and tell them to sign up to be a Team Phantom Rider or Phantom Feeder.
Good night all....thanks for your support along my journey.

Patricia, you are ONE determined lady! The other day when you talked about snow, I was afraid you were going to have to go out and get chains! Glad you are having so much nicer weather....be glad you aren't going thru Phoenix this weekend....going to hit 98! That is the day we leave and head back for rainy Seattle! Pedal on, my friend, and be safe. XOXOXOXO Bon
Pat, Don just Googled you and found a great article in the Redmond Patch.....I am sure you keep in touch with their articles. Wonderful.....
You are so great. I am very proud to know you. You and Bill keep safe and I will check your postings later.
There is a possiblilty we MAY be somewhere around the area when you are in Malta, Snowville or Ogden as we travel home up thru SLC. Will keep in touch and hope you have a signal for your cell phone. Don't see anything on your route from May 2-22......isn't that when you are going thru Colorado and the Continental Divide? OUCH!!
