Apparently no escapade with the Tildsley Jones household is complete without a trip to see the Apostles and Apollo Bay via the great ocean road. Friday our intrepid explorers jump into the sunshine bus and head for the sea.
With Robbie as our sound track we motor down the coast.

As we leave the freeway and head for the road proper the scenery changes. Thats after stopping for breakfast at a truck stop on route. Steve managed to get his second breakfast and the sunshine bus moved on.

The scenery, sorry got side tracked by food! The mountains and road that hugs the cliff is fantastic. so much to see that you cant talk it all in. The shutter speed on the camera is not sufficient to capture the beauty as we slip past coves and cliffs. Thats except that rank smell that slips through the eucalyptus.Ah! That would be the Koala's hiding in the tree's munching on nothing but eucalyptus leaves and urinating the residue for all to smell.. Rank dank but natural..

The scenery just keeps coming on and on and the sea is an endless aquamarine glistening in the sun! how poetic...

We drove onto the 7 Apostles. Well, they were called the 12, but 5 of them have crumbled to nothing. The scenery again is astounding. Apart from the wind, it fair takes your breath away.

After drinking in the vista (Steve managed to clock a few that play in his team) we head for Apollo bay and our lodgings for the evening. Now baring in mind this is Sam and Steve's first venture into backpacking ville.. We are some what trepidatious about the accommodation.

We drove through a scenic town restaurants and niknak shops one side. Beach and waves the other. We locate our lodgings at the back of the town (400 meters from the beach my arse) Let the pictures speak for themselves. Needless to say Emma went to great lengths to say that this was the WORST place she had ever encountered.

Look at the pics and make your own minds up!

No sooner had we located and talked about moving into somewhat more standard accommodation we left our bags in the room and walked into town. Trying to drink as much as possible to ensure that we slept through the night.

Thanks for Charlie (a French guy staying in the same place as Sam and Emma, he got the spider out of their room!)

After a restful () night we headed into town for brunch ! well the cook at this place was stunning and kept cocking a smile at Emma.

We then headed to Marunas ( think that right) falls. a delightful waterfall in the rainforest. The walk up the creak was wonderful. All manner of trees and the babbling brook. As soon as Sam mentioned that Lee had ventured into the waterfall Steve had to try. Christ it was cold. (see Video attached)

The road home was uneventful. The poker when we got back was great.
