So back at Sleeping Bear Dunes there was the guy who gave us the raspberries. He had just come down from this area as he did the annual walk across Mackinac Bridge. He told us about a casino that had free hook-ups for RVer's. We didn't believe him at first, thinking there's got to be a catch. It was a good lead though and worth the follow up, but we didn't ask which casino!

Through process of elimination, we started with the one closest to the bridge and bingo. There was a sign asking RVer's to check in at the front desk. We were shocked to find it was true. The catch was that there was no dump. The casino was in the process of setting up RV sites (for the past year) and just finished wiring the electricity. Then the guy told us we could also use the hotel facilities: gym, pool and jacuzzi. Score! He wanted to know how long we were staying. I asked what the limit was, kinda joking. He said there was no limit because they hadn't implemented a proper registration process, which is also why they weren't charging for the hook-ups. I wasn't about to question their logic. I said, "How about five days?" That was to cover us as we hadn't really thought about the details of our stay. It's not like we'd actually camp out that long!

Oh but we nearly did! We stayed four nights enjoying their facilities, reading in front of the fireplace, watching movies on our projector, catching up through the use of our laptops and the occasional visits to the casino. Wednesday was "American Day" where we ate free hot dogs, played on free credit and won money, while drinking cheap beers. The waitress even gave us coupons for discounts off our pupus. Then there was the delicious ice cream shop where I happily turned into 10 year old, devouring a huge mound of Dear Trax. Does it get any better?!

We eventually had to move on though. The place was getting crowded as an antique tractor parade was meeting up in one of the parking lots. On our drive out we saw the tractors, that had crossed Mackinac Bridge (they sure do get a lot of use out of that bridge), pulling into the lot. They said 600+ tractors were going to gather there. We took a moment to take some pictures and then we reluctantly left Kewadin Shores Casino.
