Montreal was still French speaking but there was more of an urban vibe to the place. We came across free parking very near to the heart of the city. What luck! We took Rusty for a walk around the Quais de Vieux-Port and Vieux (old) Montreal. We drove by the casino but as there was some sort of Nascar event, the parking lot was full for the week.
The next day we walked and walked, story of our lives. We went into the souvenir shops on Rue St Paul, walked around Rue St Catherine and into the Cathedrale Marie-Reine du Monde, around Rue Bishop, down Rue Cresent (which had sponsored activities for the Napa Nascar event), around the mansions of the Golden Sq Mile and hiked up to Mont Royal with Rusty for views of the city. Montreal compliments Quebec well.
