We try to schedule breather's every now and then. We thought this RV trip would be totally relaxing, with our awnings out, cocktails in hand. I can attest that would not be the correct terminology for this journey. Maybe it has something to do with our personalities, but there's just too much to see and not enough time. I think it's actually more stressful then relaxing. Odd, I know!

We know we can't do everything but we are determined to maximize our time on this trip. So we spend little time sitting around doing nothing. There's the traveling aspect, then there's the usual bit of maintaining a daily life and home. There's upkeep with living in our roving home, the maintenance of driving our vehicle home for probably close to 20 thousand miles within a year, and living in a close confined space with another person and dog, just about 24/7. Who wouldn't need a breather!?

The National Park Annual Pass has been so worth the $80! We've gotten our money's worth and then some. NP's have reasonable camping fees. Most have fresh water and dumps.. If there's a NP within a reasonable distance, we are there!

Shenandoah was a little out of the way but well worth the views, cooler temps and we got to see Bambi! While we were camping three deer crossed right in front of our RV. Rusty was going crazy and scared them off. However the momma doe stayed back and did a dance to distract attention from Bambi. The baby stayed in hiding until reunited with her mom and then they dashed off into the woods.

The next morning we drove to a look out and all of a sudden another doe and Bambi came into the clearing. They looked a little startled like they had just been "Frah-lah-laing" through the forest and all of a sudden they were no longer in Kansas. They didn't stick around long. Love wildlife...why do people enjoy hunting?!
