As with every Saturday for the past month, Singapore was practicing for the upcoming National Day Parade. From our apartment balcony, we watched the helicopters bring in the massive Singapore flag and the jets doing aerial stunts. Later in the evening, Steve took me out to celebrate with a dinner on the edge of Marina Bay. He timed it so we could see the fireworks from our outdoor table. It reminded me of our time at San Fermin, where Steve proposed. After having risked his life while running with the bulls, we got to take in an impressive fireworks display, lighting up the night sky in Pamplona, Spain.
We spent the rest of the night hedging our risks at the Marina Bay Sands Casino. It's kinda dangerous living this close to a gambling establishment! Good times though!!!
Then, yesterday, we celebrated Roxy's 6th birthday! (Scary to think she could be a real 6 year old child!!) Instead of getting her a cake, we gave her two helpings of soft beef dog food. Man can that lil' girl eat!!! She would not sit still while we were singing, "Happy Birthday!" She was clawing at Steve to get to the food and in the end, she blew out her pink candle and chowed down. We gave her some new miniature stuffed animals to tote around the house. A small bear and a rat...perfectly fitting for our cat like dog! However, it seems Johnny thinks the rat is his as he's been playing with it and even slept with the thing. Maybe he thinks it's his pup b/c it does look like him!
Today, we are packed up and heading to Koh Phi Phi, Thailand for our anniversary getaway. (Not really, it just happens to be a trip we had planned but I like to drag things out!!! hahaha) We found cheap tickets when I booked for the Thai massage school. Steve's been wanting to go back and dive. This will be extra special too since it's probably our last vacation while living in Singapore!
