Steve wanted to go check out the 62nd International Rugby Tournament that was held at Padang over the weekend. I put the order through sistic and picked up the tickets at the Esplanade. The tickets were cheap at just under S$53 for the both of us, for the 3 days. Unfortunately, we didn't make it there until Sunday!
Not quite sure what happened to us on Friday but I think it might have had something to do with the rainy weather? Then Saturday we went for a hike around Bukit Chandu (War Memorial) and worked out in the gym/pool. By the time we were ready to go, I realized that the party we were suppose to go to started a lot earlier then what I remembered. So, we went to the party with the intention of hanging out for a bit then heading to the event. However, the party was too fun, we drank some and well, never made it to the field!
That made for a slow Sunday but eventually we got there! I had never seen rugby live and I love firsts so I was kinda excited. Apparently, it wasn't a usual match up as there were several teams playing for I think 7 minutes at a time. It was more of a drink fest (which I hear is the same in Hong Kong) and not many people seemed to really watch the sport. I can't imagine how you'd keep up with the teams coming and going, then drinking on top of it all. We only stayed for a couple of hours but it was a different experience...not sure I'm into the sport myself!
On the way home, it started to rain. We thought about going back as it'd get more interesting seeing a bunch of huge muscled up dudes playing around in the mud. Tee hee! Yet, the weekend was long and we called it a day...
