It seems like just yesterday that we bought the tickets but when we bought the tickets, the race days were months ahead!  Now it's all over but what a great time!!  Not sure I'd go to the actual race again unless I had views of the pit as the cars whiz by so fast you barely see them.

There were a lot of things, besides the qualifying race and actual race, going on over the weekend.  Friday night we met up with some new friends and headed over to Fort Canning Park to catch the F1 Rocks concerts.  We wanted to see No Doubt that night but over the weekend Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas and other bands played at that particular venue.  Then for those who had tickets to the 3 day race events, there were more musical acts (Travis, Carl Cox, Digweed, Backstreet Boys (?)), Porshe/Alfa Romeo/BMW races, a car show, roaming theatrical acts, yadda yadda.  I heard there were parties all over the city with DJs flown in.  Singapore was buzzing and as soon as the cars revved up their engines, we could hear them from out apartment, even before we went to the events.  It was a fun weekend!!

We had Walkabout tickets on Saturday and we did just that...walked about for 9 hours!  We scored cheap tickets.  However, a co-worker of Steve's who was visiting won 3 grandstand seats!!  We got to see the cars from all angles but they come at you so fast you nearly got a whiplash.  They are SOOOO LOUD.  We all had bought earplugs which helped but my ears were still ringing a bit the next day.  Trying to photograph the cars was interesting and seeing everyone out with their DSLRs trying to pan with the cars was funny!

Sunday, we went over to our new apartment and the management had saved us seats from their 44th floor.  We watched the Porsche race from there and at least we could see which cars were which!  Then we went to Clarke Quay's Brewerkz to grab some beers, food and watch the main event on a big screen.  It was a great weekend with Lewis Hamilton winning the Singapore race!!!
