We have such a lazy start to the day what to do where to go it's all such a big decision so we take our time heading out about 11am. It is a stunning day 34 degrees so we take the Ocean Tourist Drive starting with the lookout. We meet a lovely family with 3 boys same ages as our kids we get chatting as we are having a heated discussion for our kids to stand for a photo and the family saying they are thankful they aren’t the only ones with kids that don’t listen. Turns out they are from Sydney and travelling around Australia for 6 Months (Jealous!!) They have been through Victoria & Sth Aust now exploring WA. We talk for ages then off to continue our tourist drive. We stop at perfect beach followed by perfect beach all open to the Ocean so not suitable for swimming gorgeous white sand with huge rocky cliffs surrounding them. We stop at Twilight beach voted the best beach in Australia in 2006 and as it is protected by some huge rocky Islands suitable for shallow swimming so throwing bathers on Claire & Liam are in body surfing and having a great time Emma able to christen her new bikinis gingerly dipping her toes. The sand here is like a fine white almost powder and like a sponge to walk on I can see why it was voted best Beach Aust wide. Off on our tourist drive we pass several more beaches 9 mile beach 10 mile lagoon 11 mile beach, all very inspired names! We then head inland a little passing some enormous Wind Turbines at the Wind Farm then past The Pink Lake the map states it’s not Actually Pink yet today it has quite a hint of pink apparently caused by algae. The road then takes us in to town so stop for lunch then stock up on meat & bread as we start our trek back across the Nullarbor tomorrow.
