Day 2 Sunday 24th March 2013

Bit of a panic Sat night when Bill went to put the laptop on charge only to discover the vital "plug" was on the back seat of his car in the garage at home…dolp (hence no upload of blog a problem we fixed on Monday)

We all woke up very tired and not looking forward to spending hours stuck in the car….thankfully we are 2kms from where we need to catch the ferry which we take us over to Lucky Bay saving 400 odd km, we got to sit on real chairs and walk around, gotta love that.

Kids & I took the 3 seconds it takes to have a good look around Wallaroo then we spent the next hour or so talking to travellers waiting for the ferry. Nigel was from the UK & travelling on an awesome KTM bike around OZ having a ball off the beaten tracks, a sullen couple from Holland (holiday mode was not suiting them!) a few newlyweds (ahhh young love) & heaps of grey nomads in various types of Britz campers.

After 2 hours of stress free travel we landed in Lucky Bay and started cruising down towards Port Lincoln. We made a quick stopover in Cowell, a thriving town with the only places open, an Art gallery/info/craft shop, a museum & of course a pub. Quick tour & vote on our favourite Art at the Art expo & it was off to explore. Now I don't know if many of you realise however young Bill loves a good museum cars are his favourite but a good old fashioned Historical Museum will do (Bill’s the one on a tour that asks the questions, you know the one the one you shoot dagger eyes at because it is soooo boring!) Anyway we sent Bill off with his $3 to discover the thrills of the Museum in downtown Cowell while the kids & I went to the playground circled the town & were ready to go…

Onward to Port Lincoln, stopping briefly at a few lookouts on the way lots of carparks with boat trailers good views though. We arrived in Port Lincoln around 6ish headed straight to Caravan Park, gorgeous views, for a quick set-up & dinner.

Looking forward to having a cruise around tomorrow. We’re staying 2 nights so get to drive without the slug on the back.
