Today we left Uluru and it was still raining. A beautiful sight and one many people probably don't get to see. As we have been chewing up fuel at about 25-26 litre per 100km we thought we might try and back off on the cruise speed (normally 110-120km.p.h!) back to 90ish. We stopped at Curtain Springs briefly then turned off on the road to Kings Canyon. (will let you know how that goes after Bill does a new spreadsheet!!) Our plan was to stay at Kings Station but now the heavens had really opened we decided to head onto Kings Canyon Resort as it has more grass areas rather than just dirt like at the Cattle Station. We passed through a couple of "creek crossings" now with water with all the rain and as we are on a made road it worked well to clean under the car, as we are still carrying a lot of dirt from the William Creek Coober Pedy Rd experience.. Made it safely to Kings Canyon Resort & magically it started to clear up so we unhitched & headed out to the Canyon about 10km from caravan park & took the 30min walk which was just majestic to say the least. I think we are so lucky to see this beautiful place having just rained with the sun struggling through. Liam’s comment “this is better than Ayers Rock we’re allowed to walk on it!”  Anyway about to head off to dinner a luxury of not cooking heading over to the BBQ grill for some entertainment where the kids are welcomed & made part of the show! Hopefully will be able to post this tomorrow heading on to Alice Springs might stay somewhere on the way & head in early on Saturday…….

'til then Mad Mackay Mob!!!

P.S. Just got back from a FANTASTIC night at BBQ Grill the entertainment was brilliant Liam even went up on stage & sang an Eskimo Joe song & played the guitar to a roaring applause they then passed the hat around for him & he cleaned up $35.60!! One very happy 8 y.o. (Should cover the cost of the window Bill had to smash to get in the caravan when the door locked him out! Anyway off to bed now! Night all…….
