We got out at the airport and knew exactly what bus to take, which is so nice in a foreign country. Last time we paid 18RM each at the tour desk in the airport then went out to the bus to notice all the locals being charged 4RM. This time we were a local and saw all the other first time tourists to KL with their 18RM tickets. Hee Hee.
We got into KL and it was ridiculously busy. Smelly, Loud and Beggars constantly, way worse than our last visit 2 yrs ago. It was their Grand Prix weekend, one of KL's biggest events, Hence the craziness. I was a bit worried but the next day things had completely calmed down.
Our First day we went straight back to the Fish Spa as the kids were very excited to do this again. Then we went to Merdeka Square, an area with all the historical grand Parliament buildings and fountains, also an Art Gallery.
We then went into the main city centre shopping district of KL and went to the Science centre which was excellent! Better than Brisbane's. We spent about 3 hours there.
The kids had the staff and other visitors laughing hysterically at this one exhibit. If you held this item with one hand and then touched someone else holding it with the other hand it would make a loud bang, ring, beep or horn sound. You had to always have one hand on the instrument and the other hand was free to tap another person holding it. Of course Brad and Kosha started off tapping, each other, than started pulling each others ears and noses. With every touch the machine would make a noise. It ended up with them slapping each others faces, pulling hair, punching in the stomach, kicking, all with sound effects and laughing like lunatics. Very Very Funny. (unfortunately my camera had run out of battery)
After the sciencentre, we went to the KLCC park. A similar idea to Southbank. Only a wading area with lovely waterfalls for the kids to run through. The park has a great view of the KL Twin Towers building.
The second day we got very religious. We went to a Buddhist temple. It was suprisingly way more than we expected. I had never heard about it in any of the KL tourist info and had just saw it in a local guide the day before, I wasn't expecting much but when we saw it, it was so intricate and huge. We were lucky to be there when all the ceremonies took place. The bathing of the Buddha and flower garlands were placed around all the symbols.
From one extreme to another, we went straight from the Buddhist Temple to the National Mosque
Charlie and I had to wear full dress with Hijab and Aaron had to wear a Robe. The boys were fine.
Charlie did look soooo cute. We did find out lots of interesting facts about Allah(GOD) and also the fact that the front of all Mosque's face to Mecca, the holy city of Islam. So every Mosque in the world is built with the front towards Mecca so the prayers are towards the holiest direction.
We had lots of wonderful food again and again amazed at the prices. 30cents Australian for softdrinks, juices, Red bull. $1 for extra large fresh juice (watermelon, carrot etc), Full Buffet meal $3. So good!
And as for the title..... Charlie calls it the oooieee place or stinky place. The back streets do have a stench of a boys urinal
