So here we are after travelling 1200 miles down the roads to somewhere warm for the winter. Benidorm has the highest number of skyscrapers(20+floors)outside of New York but the town has everything you could want. We first stopped here during the summer for a night and ended up staying five weeks! So, after our summer employment ended we decided to come back for the winter to get away from the cold stuff 'up north'!We shall be returning to UK in the spring to start work again but thats three months away! The town is safe at night (unlike Brighton) and has so much entertainment if you want it. The beach and the waters are comparable to the Caribbean but not as warm this time of year. There are many, many shops selling evrything you can get at home from The Daily Mail to Bisto gravy! Beer can be as low as a Euro a pint and ciggies four Euros for 20! But the real pleasures come from visiting the villages and countryside in the area. Benidorm has mountains all around and some beautiful scenery. In the clubhouse on our campsite we have a Christmas panto this weekend and on Christmas Day we are going to the Benidorm Palace to see a show that rivals anything seen on Broadway or the West End we are reliably told. We have been here four weeks now and still getting out and about on our motorbike to places as yet unvisited by us. We have cable TV provided by the campsite which gives us all the terrestial channels from home and after looking at the weather forecasts we are glad we are here!To be continued....
