Another weekend get away from Berlin, this time Hamburg, less than 2 hours from Berlin. We went with Lisa and Krissi. Our hostel was right on the Reaper Bahn, which is the famous party and red light street in Hamburg. I took a stroll up and down the famous Herbert Strasse where only men are aloud. It is similar to the red light district in Amsterdam with scantly clad women to suite all persuasions in shop windows all vying for business. It was curious to walk through there. Apparently if other woman walk through there will be a lot of abuse from the ladies in the windows. We did a bus tour and mainly hung out. Stefan came up for the evening and we played a lot of kicker together. The next day we had breakfast buffet (very popular here in Germany) and met Peggy, who was a passenger with Angie and Krissi in Australia. Hamburg is perhaps a little nicer than Berlin. It is the 2nd largest city in Germany and feels a lot more compact than Berlin. Berlin is a sprawling metropolis in comparison. Hamburg is a bit more expensive to live than Berlin. We liked Hamburg.
