Our last day in Vancouver was a wet one. We travelled with the Greyhound bus in the morning to Seattle. It is a 3-4 hr trip. There was a short stop to clear U.S. immigration and we were on our way. It was a lovely sunny afternoon when we rolled into Seattle. We stayed at City hostel in Belltown. This is one of the best hostels we have stayed at. Very social too! Downtown Seattle is vibrant and fun. One of the best cafes for coffee lovers was one block up from our hostel. It is called Bedlam Cafe and it ranks possible number one (certainly top 3) out of our list of favorite cafes. Not sure if you ever heard of Phoenix Jones? He is a real life crime fighting super hero and he patrols the streets here in Belltown. There was an article in the local paper about him and how is trying to raise $10,000 to upgrade his outfit so that it is bullet resistant and stab proof. Apparently more than a few bullets have come his way! He is getting a lot of stick for looking for the money for his new suit.

In terms of touristy stuff we hung out at the fish market for a while. The merchants there are very entertaining to watch as they work the crowd. The EMP museum (music, sci-fi & pop culture) is excellent. The Nirvana exhibit was great! There is a cool section where you can rock out on guitars, keyboards, drums etc. There is even a big stage that you can play on with a fake audience. We chewed up most of an afternoon here! We also did a tour of Boeing's factory out in Everett. There are 35,000 people employed out there. The building is enormous and it is amazing to see these planes being assembled. Most of the parts are built else where and then assembled in Everett. Currently work is going on at a frantic pace churning out their new Dreamliner aircraft. They have back orders for these right up to 2019. These will set you back over $300m and that's without seats etc. Also, Boeing don't deliver, you have to get out to Everett and fly them back yourself.

3 days in Seattle is great. There are so many things you can do and see. It is a chilled out downtown and very easy to orientate yourself. We loved it here and the weather wasn't bad either!
