Well from Lovina i endured a slow bus and ferry journey over to Lombok, overnighting on Lombok's costal town of Sengeggi, then catching the morning boat over to the Gili island.
I was slightly worried about coming over to Lombok. (not too many travellers have been going there from Bali) Unlike in Bali where most of the population are Hindu's, 90% of Lombok's population are strict Muslims and there has been violent clashes between the Catholics and the Muslim's in the past.
Although most of the troubles have appeared to have simmered down now.
The first thing i saw when i stepped off the ferry was a shiny new mosque, followed shortly after by a large McDonald's and KFC signpost!!
