Night train to Mojkovac

Erin cooked a wonderful breakfast with the free eggs at Hostel City Centre Sarajevo. Unfortunately it meant that by the time we jumped in a taxi to go to the bus station across town we had missed our bus to Niksic by a few minutes. This already seems to be a recurring theme. The next bus wasn't until 2pm so we decided to catch a bus to Belgrade.
I had been to Belgrade before but this was on a Fanatics Davis Cup tour so the majority of time was spent watching tennis and drinking in the different bars around Belgrade. Still I had some basic orientation of the city and we had 7 hours to kill by our overnight train to Mojkovac.
Belgrade was beautiful! The weather was warm and packed with people as we strolled up the main pedestrianised street to Republic Square then down to the Bohemian Skardilija. Back to the main street we walked up to the massive castle, Kalmegdan Fortress which I had neglected to see in my previous travels. It was approaching twilight and the reflections of the castle walls looked stunning. The outer part of the fortress offers a magnificent view of the meeting of the Danube and Sava Rivers through Belgrade. The view was made better with the setting sun.
We headed back to Belgrade train station with plenty of time to spare and settled into our compartment for the journey to Mojkovac in Montenegro.
