Out of Lexington and up Vesuvius. While climbing the hill the cyclists missed the turn we were meant to take through the park and ended up going the wrong way down the hill and accidentally taking a 2 hour de-tour. At the same time the support team that had read the map correctly drove the entire route 4 times searching for the missing cyclists. We finally met up with Ben Leigh and Alex Galvin still at the top of the hill with a blow out to Leigh's rear tire and the spare inner tubes not inflating and Tom and Fred 25 miles further along the route not far from Charlottesville our final destination for the evening.
The day took its toll on moral and pushed everybody to the limits but we pushed on knowing that D.C. is now only 3 days away and with no more hills it's all down hill from here.
