Friday, November 14th, 2008.

I
woke up Friday morning at about eight am, and got ready for once again,
another day of stressful traveling. I gathered all of my things
together, which luckily I had done most of the night before, put on my
traveling clothes that I had laid out to make my day that much easier
(a comfortable pair of jeans, and a hooded sweatshirt). I was getting
ready to go downstairs for a complimentary breakfast and the
every-individuals needed 'cup of coffee' .... actually in my amazing
2-bedroom deluxe suite, there was a coffee pot and complimentary coffee
to make in the morning that said "Sometimes you need a cup of coffee, just to go downstairs to get a cup of coffee."
I thought that was rather cute, but not having a lot of time, and
wanting to make sure that I get to the airport on time for my flight, I
went downstairs and had some fresh coffee, freshly squeezed orange
juice and my favorite, crispy, almost burnt bacon, with a side of
potatoes (yet another favorite) and fresh fruit. I sat there in
complete and utter peace enjoying my breakfast, not wanting to begin
another full day of traveling.

I then proceeded to check out
and had the guy take me to the airport, for yet again another stressful
morning. My flight was scheduled for 10:20 am, and there was one flight
before mine that was scheduled at 6:10 am to go to the exact some
destination. I arrived at the airport at approximately nine am, and the
6:10 am flight did not even leave yet. Therefore, if that flight was
several hours behind schedule, then my flight would be the same. So, as
I sat again, anxiously waiting at the Delta airline, I once again was
trying to think about what to do. I cannot believe this is
happening again. I just went through this yesterday. I know that I will
catch my flight at JFK, because I did have a seven hour layover, so
worst case scenario, I leave Syracuse later than expected, and possibly
not be able to see Casey. This sucks.
I tried to come up with
every possible solution, to ensure myself that I would in fact get to
Berlin. While I sat there waiting, there were several other furious
individuals that were trying to figure out what they were going to do,
because many of them had connecting flights that they would possibly
miss as well. I sympathized with most of them because I knew exactly
how they were feeling. For it happened to me yesterday. There was at
least a dozen of us waiting at the airport, waiting to hear some good
news, just sitting there waiting. Then, luckily at about 9:30 we found
out that the flight that was supposed to leave at 6:10, was getting
ready to board, and that the flight still had some available seats
left, so they were going to allow passengers from the 10:20 flight, to
board the 6:10 flight (that was boarding at about 9:30). They were
going to try and fit as many people available on the same flight.
Providentially for me, I was able to get onto the flight, and
meanwhile, I was talking to this girl named Alexis about our current
situation. Due to the fact that they put us on a flight were we had not
assigned seats, we were able to choice our own seats. So Alexis and I
were able to sit next to one another on the flight, which was rather
nice and relaxing. We talked about the places we have traveled to,
exchanged stories, and talked about future travel plans. We exchanged
information so we would keep in touch, and keep one another posted on
our travel adventures, and then we parted our separate ways once we
arrived at JFK. We were right on schedule!

I called my friend
Casey who came and picked me up from the airport and then we started
back to her house in Long Beach, only about a twenty minute ride to get
to her house from JFK. When we finally got to her house, I brought in
my things and then we sat on their big, comfortable couches to relax.
Of course after about a half an hour, both herself and I were hungry,
so we walked down the street to this pizza restaurant and got ourselves
some true New York Pizza. We took it back to her house to eat and then
I made her re-watch an episode of Entourage that I missed. We then
continued to catch up on each other's life's, talking about work,
school, guys, relationships, family, etc. Then we watched The Holiday,
then Footloose, then I made her take a few pictures with me, where she
freaked out because she was unaware of the continuous shooing mode on
my new camera. However, she took me back to the airport and I waited to
get onto my flight to Berlin, everything was running on schedule until
we all got to the airplane, when there was about 30 airplanes, all
waiting to leave. So, we had to wait an additional twenty minutes to
leave, but nonetheless, it was an enjoyable flight. I saw next to a
nice, quiet, German guy, and took out my notebook, and began to write.
