I drove east on 20 and stopped along the way at the Challenger Ridge Winery.  There I tired five red wines in a tasting.

I continued east on 20 and visited the North Cascades National Park and Ross Lake National Recreation Area.  I made many stops to see the countless waterfalls.  The mountains were beautiful with tall jagged peaks and snow caps.  The view of Ross Lake was great.  It was a beautiful bright blue and surrounded by mountains.  As I continued my drive I went past Lake Chelan National Recreation Area.

I continued my drive east a few more hours and arrived at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area.  Inside the park I visited the Grand Coulle Dam.  When the dam's construction was completed in 1942 it had become the largest structure ever built; breaking a 42 century record of Egypt's Great Pyramid.  Today the dam is the biggest producer of hydroelectric power in the United States.

At 10PM I drove back out to the dam and took a seat on the lawn with my beach chair.  There were probably another fifty people there too.  We all came for the laser light show.  They project the laser light show up on the dam with a whole story about its history.  It was a great show!
