I started the day with a drive south on 101 to Beach 4.  What a clever name!  Here I met up with a park ranger for a guided 90 minute walk along the beach to learn about the life and feeding trends of animals in the tide pools.  She pointed out all kinds of creatures and described the food chain in this ecosystem.  There were tons of star fish.  After I spent some time tediously navigating over large rocks to explore other coastal life.

Around 12:30PM I went to the Kalaloch Lodge for lunch.  After I found a comfy sofa in the lobby and had a solid nap.

At 2PM I met up with another ranger for a tour.  She took us on a two hour hike through the coastal rainforest.  I was surprised to learn that this coastal rainforest was different from the nearby Hoh Rainforest.  Along the hike she pointed out various tree, plant and animal life.

Following the tour I drove north to Ruby Beach.  It was so different from Beach 4 because it was a pebble beach.  It is incredible to be on the beach and to look behind you and see rainforest.  The beach had all kinds of interestingly shaped gigantic rock formatins in the shallow shoreline.  Way off in the distance was an island with a lighthouse.

Aroun d 6:30PM I arrived at Rialto Beach.  It was about a 45 minute drive.  This beach was also a pebble beach.  There were two rock islands and their coastline shot straight up as rocky cliffs.  On top of the island were lush green trees.

In the evening I went for some Chinese food.  Back at camp I got a fire going and sat out for a couple of hours.
