This morning I drove north to Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. The lake was incredible. It had a blue color I have never seen before. So bright blue and clear! Close ot the shore where I came in on, when I looked down I saw Wizard Island. There were so many amazing colors of blues and greens along the shore of the island. I continued driving around the rim and stopping for fantastic views done in the lake.
From Crater Lake I continued driving north on 97 until I crossed into Newberry Volcanic National Monument. I drove to the summit and looked down into where it had previously erupted. I walked around the rim and then down to an overlook to see an extensive lava flow. It was like a river of black rock and in the background where fantastic views of snow capped mountains.
In the evening I stayed in Bend, Oregon.
