On July 29 we arrived in Cozumel, Mexico. I exited the ship to
board a ferry boat for a 40 minute ride to Playa de Carmen. From there I
boarded a bus with 40 others for a 40 minute bus ride to Tulum, a site
of Mayan ruins located on a short cliff overlooking a gorgeous beach.
The ruins were fantastic! I had a guided tour for about 45 minutes. Then
I had 2 hours of free time. I explored the ruins more on my own. Then I
climbed down to the beautiful beach. The water was a mix of so many
colorful blues and greens. After the ruins I went for a typical Mexican
lunch and ate some fish tacos
Exhausted from the long day,
touring, and the strong hot sun I took the bus and ferry back to the
port. Amazingly I just happened to pass Diana and her parents who were
returning from their day trip to Paradise Resort for a day of sand, sun
and fun. Together we sampled a wide variety of Mexican tequila.
In the evening we had a bottle wine, played some dominoes and then went for another delicious dinner.
