I had an outstanding experience today! Left early this morning and boarded a tiny boat with nine others and some guides. We took a 70 minute boat ride out into the Atlantic Ocean until we came across a school of whale sharks. Two at a time we jumped into the water for a closer look. Although my first dive was thrilling, my second was a once in a lifetime experience. My guide told me to swim in one direction. Suddenly through my mask I saw this massive whale shark swimming toward me. I quickly turned my body to move up alongside it. Together we began to swim side by side. I was literally at his eye about a foot away. It was undescribable to have the opportunity to swim next to this beast and see him up close.
